The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Caraga has been into several information campaigns towards making agriculture more attractive and more appealing to the youth.

For this year, DA-Caraga engaged the youth to harness their innate creativity, to express their awareness on DA’s twin goal Masaganang Ani, Mataas na Kita through the Infomercial and Jingle Making Competition.

A sixty-seconder infomercial featuring agriculture’s importance for the development of the country, bagged the first place in the 2019 Agri-Galing Infomercial Video Category.

The infomercial bested the 26 other entries from the different schools, colleges, and universities in the region.

Produced by the Grade 11 students of the Bayugan National Comprehensive High School (BNCHS) led by Belle Blanche Kyle C. Abiol, the infomercial video titled “Agrikultura” illustrates that agricultural transformation is the key to sustainable future prosperity. So, without agriculture, no country can feed the people and no development is possible.

Meanwhile, Caraga State University (CSU) – Cabadbaran Campus entry entitled Finest Agriculture Finest Future got the spot for second place and Caraga Regional Science High School (CRSHS) – Surigao City entry entitled Plato recognized as the third placer.

Awarded by the DA-Caraga Regional Executive Director Abel James I. Monteagudo the winners received a trophy and a cash award.

Special awards were also given during the awarding ceremony last November 29 at Butuan City. Best video editing was given to BNCHS for the entry entitled Youth Must Make a Difference. Best Sound Editing for CSU-Cabadbaran Campus, Finest Agriculture Finest Future.

In addition, BNCHS Agrikultura wins the most creative award. Kanato Ini Unahon Ta, entry of Tagbina National High School was chosen as the most relevant and Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) – Bishop Pueblos Senior High School entry Youth for Agriculture Building the Nation wins the viewer’s choice award.

For the jingle making category, Trento National High School entry entitled Agri Ka bested 18 entries. FSUU’s entry Lihok sa Kaugmaon recognized as the second placer and Agusan del Sur National High School named as the third placer.
