MANDATE

The Department of Agriculture is the principal agency of the Philippine Government responsible for the promotion of agricultural development. Thus, the Department of Agriculture shall provide policy framework, help direct the investments and extend the support services necessary to make the agricultural and agri-based enterprises profitable and to help spread the benefits of development to the poor, particularly those in the rural areas.

Promote and support sustainable agricultural programs to effect development of the region for an improved quality of life that is anchored on the spirit of partnership, commitment and transparency.
